Этот принцип обязывает психолога ответственно относиться к образованию и саморазвитию, работать только в рамках своей профессиональной подготовки и опыта. Если проблема клиента выходит за пределы моей компетенции, то я перенаправляю клиента к профильному специалисту. Кроме этого, я обязуюсь поддерживать свои компетенции: проходить повышение квалификации, следить за своим физическим и психическим состоянием, проходить супервизии и личную терапию.
Не может вызывать сомнений, что каждый человек прежде всего субъект со своим опытом и внутренним миром. Я лишь гость в психическом мире человека, и обязуюсь бережно относиться ко всему, что там находится. Мне важно быть честной и открытой с клиентами, не использовать манипуляции и не обещать того, что не соответствует реальности.
Задача психолога проинформировать клиента о том, что будет происходить во время терапии. Клиент подписывает информированное согласие добровольно и имеет право в любой момент прекратить терапию, по любой причине.
Психолог обязан избегать любых отношений, кроме профессиональных. Смешение ролей разрушает терапевтический альянс и делает невозможной профессиональную помощь.
Ценности, сексуальная ориентация, национальность, политические взгляды, возраст, социальный статус не могут являться препятствием к осуществлению грамотной профессиональной работы психолога.
